I am a spinal surgeon in Dublin. I have previously worked as a spine surgeon at Tallaght University Hospital and the National Spinal Cord Unit at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

I started my surgical training in Ireland in 2005 and specialised in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery from 2011-2016.  My specialist spinal surgery training has taken me to world renowned centres abroad including

Having previously studied medicine at NUI Galway, I completed two Masters Degrees there- in Medical Sciences and in Surgery.  As a result of my extensive experience in musculoskeletal trauma, I am the editor and creator of the popular patient website www.myorthoclinic.com

I have authored over 50 research papers which are mostly on topics in spinal conditions. I have co-authored 4 book chapters and I have most recently co-edited a new book titled “Spinal Anatomy: Modern Concepts”.

I now work in close collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy at University College Dublin and I am a Programme Director for the Spinal Studies module on the UCD Masters Degree in Physiotherapy.
